My earliest memories are of taking careful note of the natural world around me and, later, attempting to capture what I saw with my crayons. Living in the northeastern corner of Illinois it has been a privilege to work as a volunteer in the forest preserves. You see me here, helping to plant some rare native plants in a wetland area. Monitoring butterflies at Illinois Beach State Park for 20 years introduced me to the delicate habitats along the shore of Lake Michigan, and is really what launched my work as an artist.
Although I’ve been pushing my work in the direction of abstraction, you will continue to see the natural world of this region running through my paintings.
You can buy my original paintings directly from me here at this site. Questions? Contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to hearing from you.
